One of the most important things you should know about me is that I love to travel; I can’t stand being in one place for too long. Most people say that I use traveling as an excuse to escape my reality at home, and that I just try to run away from the real world. It honestly frustrates me when some people say that though. My love for exploring into the unknown has nothing to do with that. If a person were to truly know me then he or she would understand where the root of my passion comes from.
When the majority of people travel they do it for vacationing purposes. I guess you could say they are technically the ones trying to escape reality. The only purpose that the trip is serving is to get away from work and pamper themselves. I’m the opposite. Whenever I go abroad, I look forward to working and learning new things. For me, I find that by submersing myself into the local culture it will refresh and relax me. I enjoy listening to local people share their life with me. I see it as an opportunity to learn about a lifestyle that I wasn’t born into. It’s kind of like being able to live a different life without actually being born into it. You know what I mean?
I believe that when we are born and raised into a family, we get this pre-programmed outlook on life. We share basically the same opinions and point of views with our family because it’s all we’ve ever known. That’s why when I travel I like to get a peek at the world through other peoples lenses. It really helps to broaden my outlook on the world as a whole.
So to say that I travel only to escape reality, is false; it serves a greater purpose for me. We really do only get one shot at life, and that’s why I plan on enriching my mind with as much of the worlds cultures as possible. I want to live out as many lives and cultures as I can while only being one person. It’s all I want to do in life…
Until next time….
